Stories From Som Of Our Champions
Maxwell Donald
The Boys to Men program has been really fun and exciting for me. One of the best things I’ve learned is how easy it can be to make new friends. I didn’t know that just asking someone what their favourite colour is could start a conversation.
It was cool to see how that small question helped us talk more and laugh together. That’s actually my favourite part of the whole program, just getting to know people and making new friends by asking simple things. It made me feel more confident and happy to be around everyone.

Being part of the Boys to Men program has been really good. I’ve learnt a lot, especially web design, which is something I’m really interested in. Before now, I didn’t know much about it, but now I enjoy learning how to design websites and even create game apps.
I think that’s one of the things I do well as a boy designing and building things with tech. This program helped me see that more clearly, and it made me even more excited to keep learning and creating.
Okoye Ezenwa
I really liked being part of the Boys to Men program. It was good and I learned a lot of things especially from the story Mentor Chimezie shared with us. That story helped me understand why it’s important to make good friends, not bad ones. It made me think more about the kind of people I want around me.
In one of the sessions, I also learned about how the Boys Champions started. It made me feel like I can grow into a better man and improve my skills. I also realized I can do more like playing basketball and working on being better every day.
Ihuamadi Kamsi
The program was fun, and I learned something new, emotional intelligence. I didn’t know much about it before, but now I understand it better. I also really liked the story Mentor Chimezie told us. It made me think a lot.
My favourite part was when we got to talk to our friends and ask them about their favourite food and colour. It helped us get to know each other more.
I believe I can keep getting better as a boy. One of the things I know I can do well is barb hair any kind of hair.
Thank you Boys Champions
Nnanna Kalu Trustjah
The program has been really expansive for me. I feel like it’s giving us things we don’t always learn in regular school. It’s not just about information, it’s about understanding life better as a boy and as someone becoming a man.
One part that really stayed with me was something Mentor Chimezie said: “Being a man is not a destination, it’s a journey.” That meant a lot to me. It reminded me that we have to work on ourselves daily, changing small habits and making better choices, step by step.
I also liked the interactive sessions the questions and answers helped me check how much I understood and kept me thinking. Even though today’s session wasn’t my favourite, I still left with something valuable.

Because of the program, I want to have better character and become a better version of myself.
Onah Anthony
Today was my first time attending the Boys to Men program, and honestly, it was interesting. Even though I didn’t come before, I could already tell it’s the kind of thing our generation really needs, something that motivates us and helps us build better character.
What stood out for me the most was learning about the importance of friendship. It reminded me how much it matters to be there for each other and to have trust in the people around us.
As a boy, I know I can keep improving. I want to grow and be better not just for myself, but for the people around me too.
Uzoukwu Chimdiebube
The Boys to Men program has been okay, but also really helpful. I’ve learned quite a lot from it. I don’t really have one favourite part, everything we’ve done so far has been educative in its own way.
One thing I’ve realized about myself through this program is that even at my age, I still act like a child sometimes. I want to work on that. I want to improve my mentality and grow into someone who thinks and acts better.
This program is helping me start that journey.

The program has been a great experience for me. It’s entertaining, but also really informative. You get to enjoy yourself while learning things that actually matter.
One thing I remember learning was about how to control your emotions. We also talked about different ways people express themselves like through language and there was even a song someone shared that really stuck with me, even if I can’t remember the exact words.
What I’m taking away from this is the reminder to be a gentleman. To do my best for the society I live in. I want to be someone who helps this country grow.
Ngwu Martins

I’ve also learned that being a better boy means listening more, helping out around the house, and showing up in ways that matter.

Being part of the Boys to Men program has been a really good for me. I’ve learned new things I didn’t expect especially around topics like healthy relationships. That part stood out to me because I know it’s something that will help me later in life.
I’ve also started thinking differently about how boys should behave. For example, I used to believe that certain chores were only for girls. But now, I’m trying to change that mindset. I’m learning that helping out at home isn’t about gender, it’s about responsibility.
Okwunwanne Abraham
This was my first time attending the Boys to Men program, and I’ve already learned so much. One of the biggest takeaways for me was about healthy relationships how to understand and respect the opposite gender, their likes, dislikes, and how to build better connections.
Even though it’s just the beginning for me, I know this program will help shape how I think and relate with others.
Otunyo Divine

They taught us the meaning of tech and even talked about the different generations of technology. I didn’t know technology had generations before, so it was interesting to hear how things have changed over time.
It made me feel excited about the future and what I can also create or be part of one day.
Nwaiwu Goodluck
The program has been going fine for me. One big thing I’ve learned is that the kitchen isn’t just for girls.

Onwubiko Obiajulu
My experience so far has been great. I learned how to make friends, and I actually made a new friend named Mbah Chidera.
I also learned that having friends can help you do better. For example, if you want to start a business but don’t have enough money, you might ask your parents but sometimes they can’t help. But if you have friends, they might support you. Like how I gave my friend 1,000 to help him.
As a boy, I want to do better by helping my mom and sisters washing plates, cooking, and running errands for them.
